The maps portion of the Ultimate Yellowstone iPhone and iPod Touch App provides five levels of zoom up to 1:17,000 scale. Maps include shaded relief terrain with layers that show contour lines, campsites, trails, trailheads, trail mileage, thermal areas, and perinent backcountry features.

All trailheads leading to backcountry campsites are clickable. A correspsonding chart tells the mileage to the campsites along the trail as well as the elevation and number of people and stock allowed at each campsite.

To have maps with this level of detail would require you to buy each of the four quadrants of the park in hardcopy at $10.00 each, and those would not begin to include all of the terrain covered outside of the park or all of the campsite information.

Combined with all of the other features of the app, we think these maps make this app a bargin at $9.99.
